Sevii Adds Ability to Dynamically Deploy AI Agents to Combat Cyberattacks

<p>Sevii this week <a href="https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/sevii-launches-autonomous-cyber-swarm-defense-to-combat-ai-driven-threat-volume--speed-302755218.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">revealed it has developed an ability to thwart cyberattack in minutes using swarms of artificial intelligence (AI) agents</a> that have been added to its application detection and response (ADR) platform.</p><p>Company CEO Curt Aubley said Sevii has leveraged multiple AI models to train various AI agents, dubbed Agentic AI Cyber Warriors, to perform specific cybersecurity tasks only as needed.</p><p>That Cyber Swarm Defense Mode (CSD) capability enables cybersecurity teams to more cost-effectively invoke swarms of AI agents at scale without unnecessarily consuming tokens, he added.</p><p>Based on Myrmidon Defense Technology (MDT), which uses a set of proprietary algorithms developed by Sevii to orchestrate security operations at scale, that capability is managed via a governance framework to enable autonomous processing of hunting, isolating and remediating in real time using a set of service-level objectives that have been defined by a cybersecurity team.</p><p>The foundation allows Sevii to provide a fixed cost model based on the assets being protected, versus charging organizations based on the number of AI tokens that may be consumed, said Aubley.</p><p>The overall goal is to enable cybersecurity teams to effectively combat cyberattacks in much the same way drones are used by the military, as cyberattacks are now increasingly being launched at machine speed by adversaries that are using AI to overwhelm existing defenses, he noted.</p><p>AI is fundamentally changing cybersecurity in ways that humans are not going to be able to manage, relying on legacy workflows and processes. The speed at which cyberattacks can now be launched requires an ability to respond within minutes that is only going to be achievable by relying more on AI agents to detect and respond in less than 15 minutes without humans needing to be in that loop, said Aubley.</p><p>More challenging still, it’s only a matter of time before adversaries leverage more advanced AI models to discover both known and unknown vulnerabilities in applications. Once discovered, those same AI models will be used to generate exploits tailored for specific application environments in a matter of minutes.</p><p>Sevii is making a case for fighting AI fire with AI fire in what has become an AI arms race between defenders and adversaries. In effect, cybersecurity teams need to be able to instantly respond to attacks at rates of speed that don’t leave time for humans to analyze each individual attack. Instead, cybersecurity teams will now be using AI to observe and learn more about how an attack was launched after the fact, said Aubrey.</p><p>Ultimately, that approach will both reduce the size of the cybersecurity team needed to defend attack surfaces that keep expanding, he added. The simple fact of the matter is that there are not enough cybersecurity professionals available to defend those environments, so the only option is to rely more on AI, noted Aubrey.</p><p>Additionally, as the role of cybersecurity professionals continues to evolve in the age of AI there will need to be significant changes made to training the next generation of those teams, he added. New recruits will need to have a much higher level understanding of Level 2 and 3 functions because most Level 1 tasks will soon be automated, said Aubrey.</p><p>Each organization, if they have not already, will need to confront the new realities of cybersecurity in the age of AI.
